I cannot believe we started the 9th week of my pregnancy...time is flying by! Before we know it our little one will be here! Here is the article from babycenter.com about how the baby is developing in the 9th week:
Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.
As I was reading this aloud to Scott he said "Are you crying AGAIN?" Yes, of course...I cry all the time...lol. Whenever I watch babies being born on TV it makes me cry, too. Scott just says I am a sap. Thanks, hon!
Anyways, I had a dream last night that we are having a boy. Then, I read today in the article that this week the baby's sex organs are formed. I am convinced this is a sign...lol. We are just really hoping for a boy!
I have my first appointment with my OB on Tuesday and I am super excited! I have been feeling better and better lately so I am not really worried about the baby anymore. I am just excited to meet our doctor! I'll make sure to post and let you all know what the doc has to say!
Love you all!
Amanda and Scott
